The forensic services offered by FlyEvidence are underpinned by more than a decade of legal investigation, pest control, environmental health and graduate/postgraduate forensic teaching.
Primarily focussed on Forensic Entomology, FlyEvidence has prior involvement in 25 legal cases, including 20 autopsies conducted in the pursuit of murder inquiries and about 20 non-suspicious deaths (also with attendance at autopsies) which provide the scope of experience that is applied to new cases. Previous experience through the Division of Pathology (Forensic Medicine), University of Edinburgh, Scottish Police Forces and Procurator Fiscals was supplemented by experience further afield with the South African and Australian police forces and hospitals and the service has recently been extended to the USA and Canada also.
Contracts for the forensic service at FlyEvidence will preferentially move to top priority in the business schedule and is provided with full confidentiality and chain of custody. In all legal work the current internationally accepted protocols for Forensic Entomology will be followed. All information and the resulting ‘court-ready’ report are provided in the strictest confidence.
Calliphora vomitoria (Linnaeus, 1758), Dorset, England
