FlyEvidence combines survey and fieldwork with accurate identification of insects from bulk samples & provision of relevant biological information.

Recent Ecological fieldwork
FlyEvidence participated in two field surveys of insect faunas in the Seychelles (June 2023 & January 2024) with the collection of several thousand specimens for identification and further analysis. An integral part of the The EU-funded IslandLife Project, the field surveys focussed on evaluating relatively undisturbed islands versus ones of similar size that have been affected by anthropogenic activities, to shed light on the unique biodiversity of island ecosystems and assess their fragility to global change.
Legal Services
The Forensic service offered by FlyEvidence is limited to Forensic Entomology which is
underpinned by more than a decade of experience in legal investigation. The focus is on, but not restricted to, estimated minimum time since death.
Digital imaging Service
FlyEvidence is once again able to offer a digital imaging service that includes high resolution, detailed images of insects and other objects, using a Euromex CMEX-10 Pro USB 3.0 camera c-mounted onto a Wild Heerbrugg M5 dissecting microscope, linked to ImageFocusAlpha software. Composite images were constructed from stacked multiple-plane images in Helicon Focus.
Commercial & household pest issues
Through our commercial service dealing with pest infestations, FlyEvidence offers accurate identification of pest insects & provision of relevant biological information.
