Differentiating Platystomatidae from Ulidiidae: fronto-orbital setae

Fronto-orbital Setae

Fronto-orbital setae (fr s) are located along  the upper orbital margin - they are present in Tephritidae and some Ulidiidae.

The position of genal setae (gn s) and ocelli (oc) are also shown - these are present in all Platystomatidae (except the genus Bromophila, in which ocelli are vestigial).
